Course Objectives Provision of thorough information on the freedom of movement principles of the European Union (“EU”) which are based on the principle of non-discrimination between the citizens of the member states, examination of Turkey-EU relations respectively.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • 1. Will gain knowledge on the basic elements of freedom of movement in the EU.
  • 2. Will have a comprehensive understanding on the EU legislation and Court of Justice decisions regarding the freedom of movement.
  • 3. Will implement the freedom of movement principles.
  • 4. Will determine whether an interference with the freedom of movement rights constitutes breach or legitimate exception.
  • 5. Will evaluate the implementation of the freedom of movement principles in Turkey-EU relations.
Course Description The basic subjects regarding the freedom of movement in the EU shall be discussed and Turkey’s status will be examined subsequently.
